Welcome to Basketsful of Fragments, or in short, FRAGMENTS. The name is taken from John 6:12,13.
This is a companion page for The Loaves and the Fishes. On it KC hopes to post, short sermon outlines in contrast to the full studies in the latter.
After the Lord had miraculously fed the almost five thousand men, not including women and children, with the five barley loaves and two small fishes sourced from a lad, the disciples (under the direction of the Lord) collected twelve baskets of fragments of the barley loaves that nothing would be lost.
When they were filled, He said unto the disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost." Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

In connection with the first anniversary of this website, KC am commencing a new “companion” link to the Loaves and Fishes to further benefit visitors to this site. It is called, Basketsful of Fragments, or just Fragments, in keeping with the twelve baskets of fragments that were gathered after the feeding of the five thousand. Just as the Loaves and Fishes Link consists of full message outlines of Bible studies so this new Fragments link will contain the “fragments” from the Loaves left over after the feeding. This link will contain short sermon outlines, which are complete in themselves, and which can be expanded with further study and meditation as led by the Spirit.
Basically, the Basketsful are…
1. Remnants or Fragments of the Food; they are not Leftovers. Jn. 6:12, 13
[Leftovers will breed worms and stink. Exo. 16:20]
a. It is the Overflow of the Oil, after the vessels have been Filled. II Kgs. 4:1-6
The oil could still flow if there were more vessels to contain it.
b.
It is the "Overflow" of the Bread from the Children's Table, after the children have been Fed – the crumbs that Fall from the table can be eaten by the dogs. Matt. 15:25-27
They are Sufficient to feed the Gentile Saints.
the gospel… is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. Rom. 1:16, NIV
c.
It is the Overflow of Blessings from God’s Bounty, the extras that can be gleaned from the Loaves and Fishes link.
They are complete sermon outlines in themselves which can be developed more Fully as led by the Spirit, though shorter and briefer than the complete studies in the Loaves and Fishes.

They are the seven years of plenty followed by the seven years of famine. Gen. 42:26,27

To be used when perhaps "famine" sets in in our minds and we Really need them. Gen. 41:29-31
b. They are not sermon "Discards", but the "Dessert" that follows the main menu.
Not fully Satisfying, but they will still Suffice.
3. "Ruminations" with a difference and an additional Link.

They are actually Ruminations but not geared to the Preparation for the Lord's Supper.
b.
They are sermon outlines suitable for use to encourage Preparation for Christian Living.
